We all know the struggle — rent, travel, art supplies, and somehow you’ve got to feed yourself too. The good news is, AUB and Bournemouth have loads of ways to keep you eating well (and staying warm) on a student budget.
Affordable Food on Campus
You don’t have to go far to find good food at fair prices:
- The Refectory – home to the Savour Range, a hot meal every weekday for just £3.95, plus the Community Island, where leftover food is available for free at the end of the day.
- Free Fruit Fridays – grab a piece from The Refectory or Student Pantry every Friday.
- The Shop – £3.75 Meal Deal for sandwiches, snacks and drinks.
- Gallery Café & Arts Bar – reusable cup scheme saves you 30p per drink; collect coffee stamps to earn freebies.
- The Social Kitchen – join a Free Cooking Session where you learn to make a meal and eat it too! Keep an eye on @ArtsUniFood for updates.
Student Pantry
The AUBSU Student Pantry in the library offers free food and hygiene products to anyone who needs them. Take what you need, leave what you can — it’s all about community.
Beyond Campus
BCP Council’s Access to Food map shows community fridges and low-cost food hubs near you. During colder months, Warm & Welcome Spaces offer free warm areas with Wi-Fi and hot drinks.
