Our course reps are the beating heart of making change at a course level, gathering the thoughts and opinions of their peers to work with academics and professional support staff at AUB to make things even better.
Course Reps are elected representatives from each year group of every course at AUB. They act as a champion of the voice of all the students in their year group.
There are on average two Course Reps for each year group of each course, from Foundation to Masters level. They are the crucial link between Students, The University and the Students’ Union.
Reps are elected in Autumn term each year – look our for our Student Voice Coordinator popping up in your lecture to hold an election!
They listen to their peers about their experiences, what works and what doesn’t, and pass that information back on to the Students’ Union via Think Tank to ensure AUB is continually improving for everyone! Each term your Course Leader will arrange a Course Partnership Group (CPG) meeting to review that terms feedback with all of the reps on that course.
We are constantly trying to improve the Course Rep system at AUB, if you are a rep or student who would like to share their experiences as/with a Rep please email: studentsunion@aub.ac.uk.
You can talk to your Course Rep about anything to do with your experiences at AUB, positive or negative. They’re not only able to submit feedback to Think Tank and champion student voices at termly CPG meetings, but their Course Rep training will also give them the information they need to signpost students to AUB’s support services where appropriate.
All AUB Course Reps are trained by AUBSU to be able to listen to, compile and champion your feedback as students. Course reps are also offered an (optional) FREE 2 day MHFA England Mental Health First Aid training course, there are limited places and this is first-come-first-serve.
There are regular events for the Reps to speak with AUBSU & each other, as well as a Teams channel to support collaboration across courses throughout the year.

Your Course Rep should make themselves known to their course regularly throughout the year, and will occasionally send out emails to encourage comments and engagement. You can also keep your eyes out for their yellow Course Rep lanyards.
However, if you don’t know who your Course Rep is and you want to contact them you can speak to your course tutor or email studentsunion@aub.ac.uk to request their contact details.
