AUBSU is a charity – and like all charities, we are overseen by a Board of Trustees who make sure everything we do is well-run, legally sound, and always in the best interests of students.
Our Trustee Board brings together a unique blend of voices:
- Sabbatical Trustees – our two full-time elected student officers who lead the Union day-to-day.
- Student Trustees – current AUB students bringing fresh perspective and passion for change.
- External Trustees – experts from beyond AUB, adding professional insight and strategic thinking.
- University Trustee – nominated by AUB to strengthen partnership working and shared goals.
Trustees have and must accept ultimate responsibility for directing the affairs of a charity, and ensuring it is solvent, well-run, and delivering the charitable outcomes for which it has been set up.

Meet the Trustees
Aditi Chotra (she/her)
Sabbatical Trustee & Chair of the Board
Aditi is our Union President 2025–26, having just graduated from BA (Hons) Visual Communication. She’s passionate about challenging the norm, asking big questions, and delivering bold, honest leadership that reflects the needs and ideas of the student community.
Amelia Mitchell (she/her)
Sabbatical Trustee
Amelia is our President Student Experience 25-26, having just graduated from BA (Hons) Fine Art. She is enthusiastic about helping take steps towards bettering student experience at AUB, tackling big challenges, and providing trustworthy representation for students.
Jia Atha (she/her)
Student Trustee
Jia is a second-year international student studying BA (Hons) Visual Communication. She joined the Students’ Union to gain leadership experience and ensure student decisions are inclusive, thoughtful, and truly reflective of the AUB community.
Lucas Clark (he/him)
Student Trustee
Lucas is heading into his third year studying VFX for Film and Television. As a Student Trustee, he’s keen to support the development of a student-focused union while gaining greater insight into how AUBSU works behind the scenes.
Billy Lewis (he/him)
Student Trustee
Billy studies Creative Writing and is entering his second year. As a Trustee, he wants to help ensure AUBSU is truly representing students’ interests and remains accountable to those it serves, through openness, action, and student voice.
Katy Reilly (she/her)
Student Trustee
Katy is a Fashion student going into her third year. She became a Trustee to make sure all student voices are heard and that everyone can access the best education and experience AUB has to offer, now and in the future.
Shaun Daly (he/him)
External Trustee
Shaun is Director of HR Operations at King’s College London and has 20+ years’ experience in HR and resourcing. Now based in Bournemouth, he joined AUBSU as a Trustee to support local students and contribute his HE expertise to a cause he values deeply.
Darren Taylor (he/him)
External Trustee & Deputy Chair
Darren brings experience from careers in hospitality, HR, recruitment, and events. He’s passionate about people, curious by nature, and sees being a Trustee as a chance to offer strategic support and give back to his local student community.
