Amelia Mitchell

President Student Experience

Amelia was elected as President Student Experience in March 2025 and took office on 1st July 2025.

Who is Amelia?

I’m Amelia, your President Student Experience! Originally from a small town near Norwich, I moved to Bournemouth to study BA (Hons) Fine Art.

At AUB I was a Student Rep, which sparked my passion for listening to student feedback and helping shape positive change. That experience grew into a wider drive to represent students across the university and ensure everyone gets the most out of their time here. I’m committed to making sure student voices are heard and celebrating the creativity, achievements, and hard work that go into academic success, societies, and community life.

AUB has given me creative freedom, and the Students’ Union has been central to that journey — offering opportunities, support, and a strong sense of belonging. Joining societies and different communities made my student experience even more exciting.

One of the things I love most about Bournemouth is its mix of sea, forest, and nearby towns. I can’t wait to work with students this year to champion your voices.

What's the role of the President Student Experience?

The President Student Experience is one of 2 full-time elected officers and is a sabbatical trustee for the Students’ Union too.

This officer works full-time across the year.
